Rob has more than twenty years of experience in business acquisition, financial planning and operational management across a broad range of industries. Before founding Big Rock Advisors, Rob was an analyst and partner in three buyout and venture capital firms, where he participated in the acquisition, formation and operation of more than forty businesses as a principal, deploying more than $250 million of equity and debt capital from institutional investors, banks and individuals in the process. While functioning on the mergers, acquisition and transaction side of the investment business, he was the Vice President of Acquisitions and a board member of RentX Industries, Inc., one of the largest equipment rental companies in North America in the 1990s. RentX , the culmination of 22 acquisitions over a 24 month period, was sold to one of the largest building materials companies in Great Britain for approximately $110 million, representing an 8x EBITDA multiple.

While associated with these buyout and investment firms, Rob served as president or CFO of five portfolio companies he helped acquire and form, where he had direct responsibility for all aspects of company operations, including sales, finance, human resources and administration. As EVP and CFO of MDserve.com, a Houston-based provider of transaction processing and management software to the medical practice and HMO industry, Rob oversaw the sourcing of $8 million in equity capital and the sale of the firm to a consortium of national health care providers and insurers.

Prior to his work in the venture capital and buyout industry and as a company executive, Rob was a transactional tax attorney with Holme Roberts & Owen LLP, one of the largest law firms in the western United States, advising clients in entity formation, business acquisition and tax litigation matters. He received his B.A. (Economics, with distinction), J.D. (cum laude) and M.B.A. (Finance) from the University of Michigan.

After a fun and challenging 20 years in corporate and government roles, Kerrie has gained substantial experience in budgeting, forecasting and improving a variety of business processes.

During the past 10 years, she held various positions at The Western Union Company including Director of Operations for the General Counsel’s Office and Anti-Money Laundering Compliance departments. In this role she oversaw all aspects of a $65 million budget, advised on organizational alignment and human resource issues while managing the day to day department operations. Prior to this, she served as Chief of Staff to the CFO where she had a variety of experiences and quickly became known as a problem solver. This led to an invaluable opportunity in Austria providing leadership support and training to the international finance team during the company’s expansion.

Prior to Western Union, Kerrie led ERP system and related new process implementations at Qwest, Cyber Solutions and the University of Colorado. She started ‘earning a living” as an auditor at the State of Nebraska and then as an internal auditor at the University of Colorado. Kerrie received a B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Nebraska and a M.S. in Information Systems with a certificate in Entrepreneurship from the University of Colorado. She holds a CPA (inactive) in Nebraska and Colorado.

An advisor to companies for nearly 20 years, Sarah brings a wealth of experience guiding executives through complex decision-making processes; structuring and negotiating significant transactions; raising capital; communicating effectively with investors, customers and the media; establishing compliance programs and implementing solid governance practices.

Sarah’s background includes serving as Associate General Counsel for The Western Union Company, a newly public, global Fortune 500 company. In that role, Sarah advised its executive team and board of directors and established and oversaw the company’s corporate governance and securities legal functions over a five-year period. Prior to that position, she advised large, medium and small companies, in-house with First Data Corporation and AT&T Corp., and as an associate with Sherman & Howard LLC, over a 15-year period. Sarah received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and her B.A. in Business Administration (with honors) from Michigan State University.
